These ponds and rockeries were in real need of a makeover. The weeds had taken over to such an extent that the owner really didn’t have the time or energy to tackle them and we don’t blame them, it took a team of us a good two weeks to clear everything!
This was a large feature but in a very large garden, so needed to have impact. After relandscaping the rockeries with the existing rag stone and renovating the ponds, we used lots of plants with strong contrasting foliage complimented with classics like irises and alpines.
The owner wanted the rockeries to be low maintenance so we laid weed liner between the plants before covering it with shingle. The addition of a water feature helped turn what had been an eyesore (owners own words!) into the central feature of the garden.
We went on to renovate other areas of the garden and the client is now a regular of ours.
