Introduction
Each project we undertake is unique and therefore the process will often be customised depending on the project requirements and the client’s needs. What follows is a guide to how we manage a typical design and construction project.

Stage 1 - Initial consultation and survey
Our first aim is to get to know our client’s taste and what they have in mind for the project. You may already have a fixed idea of the design but you may also like us to provide you with some inspiration. We will also survey the site and take measurements. This is a good time to discuss any budget you have in mind.

Stage 2 – Proposal and design plan
At this stage we will sketch some ideas including suggested landscaping materials and planting. This will be presented to you for discussion. Once the design has been agreed we will draw up a final plan for approval. At this point we will also provide you with an estimate and an idea of timings.

Stage 3 – Site clearing and hard landscaping
It’s an unavoidable fact that this stage of the project will cause some disruption and that’s why some clients like it to be done during times when they’re not using the garden such as during winter months or even when they are on holiday. However, whatever the time of the year we appreciate that we’re entering your home so will endeavour to keep any disruption to a minimum.

Stage 4 – Planting
Once the hard landscaping has been complete we will prepare the soil and begin the planting. This is often the most exciting part of the project when you will really see start to see the design come to life.

Stage 5 – After care
All gardens, even low maintenance ones, will need some continued attention and we are happy to undertake the maintenance work for you. However you may want to do the maintenance yourself. Either way we will provide an easy to follow after care manual specifically tailored to your garden. We also like to pay follow up visits in the following months, even the following year to see how the garden is progressing.
